Overview

The Department of Environment and Conservation provides leadership on key environmental and conservation issues in Western Australia, including the protection, conservation, sustainable use and enjoyment of our natural environment. The Department is responsible for licensing access to terrestrial biota for all purposes and for licensing the use of Western Australia’s terrestrial biota for bioprospecting and biodiscovery purposes.
